چکیده

Background: Genomic studies of hepatitis B virus (HBV) diversity are becoming increasingly significant to understand how HBV mutations interact with a wide spectrum clinical and pathological disorders. Objective: This study focused on identifying genotypes determining the status pre-core (PC) core promoter (CP) mutants. Methods: Nested polymerase chain reaction was used identify viral 100 patients chronic infection. Only 30 samples out were selected determine prevalence in PC CP by Sanger sequencing. Results: Over 95% had only D genotype mixed 5% (B+C+D) (CHB) patients. G1898A, G1901A, G1910A G1915A gene found total 15 (50%) samples, which distributed following proportions: 12 25 (48%) e antigen (HBeAg) -ve, 8 mutants at (four mutations), 4 G 1901A (three mutations). In addition, 3 5 (60%) HBeAg +ve, while no type any mutation detected B. Conclusion: The predominantly prevalent among CHB (B+C+D), C relatively less than D. nucleotides G1915A, gene. Mutations in pre-core and basal-core promoter regions of hepatitis B virus in chronic HBV patients from Golestan, Iran

Objective(s): It has been reported that the mutation of the pre-core (PC) and basal-core promoter (BCP) may play an important role in the development of HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In this study the PC and BCP mutations were investigated in chronic HBV patients. Materials and Methods:In this study, 120 chronic HBV patients from Golestan, Northeast of Iran who were not vaccinated...

Significance of Hepatitis B Core Antibody as the Only Marker of Hepatitis B Virus Infection in High Risk Patients

Background and Objective: Presence of hepatitis B core antibody (anti-HBc) in the absence of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs) is defined, as isolated anti-HBc. little is known about the clinical significance of the isolated anti-HBc in hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections. The aim of this study was to assess the significance of anti-HBc as the onl...

Mutations at Nucleotide 1762, 1764 and 1766 of Hepatitis B Virus X Gene in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B and Hepatitis B-Related Cirrhosis

Abstract       Background and objective: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a DNA virus with high tendency toward hepatic tissue. There are currently about 3 million HBV-infected people and 350 to 400 million chronic carriers of this virus in the world. X protein plays a role in the over-expression of oncogenes, carcinogenicity of liver cells and overlaps with the basal co...

Mutations in the Basal Core Promoter and Precore/Core Regions of Hepatitis B Virus in Patients Co-Infected With Human Immunodeficiency Virus

ABSTRACT          Background and objectives: Globally, about one third of the population has been infected with Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and more than 400 million people have become chronically infected. Nearly, 20-25% of all carriers develop serious liver diseases such as cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). According to t...

hepatitis b virus core promoter mutations in patients with chronic hepatitis b and hepatocellular carcinoma in bucharest, romania

conclusions genotype d was the main genotype detected in romanian patients with chronic hbv infection. genotype d presented both bcp and pc mutations more frequently. results we detected two hbv genotypes; a (8.1%) and d (60.5%), and a mixture of genotypes a and d (31.4%) (p < 0.001). basal core promoter (bcp) a1762t/g1764a and precore (pc) g1896a mutations were detected in these romanian patie...
